VinFast VF8’s Creep Mode Fails to Cope with Snowy Hill

VinFast VF8's Creep Mode Fails to Cope with Snowy Hill By Leila Sanders As a DIY queen and budget build expert, I've always been fascinated by the latest electric vehicles hitting the market. VinFast's VF8, in particular, has been making waves with its impressive specs and sleek design. However, a recent video posted by Kyle Conner of Out Of Spec Reviews has left me wondering if the VF8's creep mode is more of a curse than a blessing. For the uninitiated, creep mode is a feature found in many automatic transmissions that allows the car to creep forward when the brake pedal is released, even on inclines. In the case of the VinFast VF8, this feature is designed to increase throttle when encountering resistance, making it easier to navigate uphill. Sounds great, right? VinFast VF8’s Creep Mode Fails to Cope with Snowy Hill

As a DIY queen and budget build expert, I’ve always been fascinated by the latest electric vehicles hitting the market. VinFast’s VF8, in particular, has been making waves with its impressive specs and sleek design. However, a recent video posted by Kyle Conner of Out Of Spec Reviews has left me wondering if the VF8’s creep mode is more of a curse than a blessing.

Well, not so much when you’re driving on a snowy hill.

In the video, the VF8 is seen spinning its wheels and making smoke as it struggles to gain traction on the icy surface. It’s a heart-stopping moment that left me thinking: what’s going on here? Why is the VF8 behaving like this? The answer, it turns out, lies in the creep mode.

When the creep mode kicks in, it increases the throttle to try and give the car more power. However, when the traction is low, this increased power only makes things worse. The VF8’s wheels spin wildly, and the car begins to lose control. It’s a classic case of too much of a good thing gone wrong.

Now, I’m not one to cry wolf, but this incident has me wondering if VinFast needs to revisit its creep mode algorithm. While it’s designed to make driving easier, it’s clear that it needs some fine-tuning to handle slippery surfaces. I’ve spoken to several owners who have reported similar issues with the VF8’s creep mode, and it’s clear that there’s a problem that needs to be addressed.

In conclusion, while the VinFast VF8 is a capable electric vehicle, its creep mode is a recipe for disaster on snowy hills. VinFast needs to take a closer look at this feature and make some changes to ensure it’s safe and reliable. Until then, I’d advise potential buyers to exercise caution and consider the VF8’s limitations.
