The Kia Telluride has always been a polarizing vehicle, with its bold exterior design and spacious interior. However, its latest interior color options take the cake. Gone are the days of boring black or beige interiors, as the 2027 Kia Telluride now offers a range of inventive color combinations and trim material choices for the interior.
One of the most striking options is the eggplant/cream combination, exclusively available on the Telluride Hybrid. This unique colorway is a deliberate attempt by Kia to add some energy to the interior beyond the standard neutral cabins. “This gives a little more life to the interior, without being overpowered, you know? It’s pretty subtle,” said Tom Kearns, Chief Designer at Kia Design Center America.
The eggplant/cream combination is just one of six unique interior colorways available on the new Telluride. Other options include a Deep Navy and Tuscan Umber combination on the gas-powered Telluride, a brick-like Tuscan Umber on its own, and a camo-green shade called Millstone paired with black or Saddle Brown. The latter two options are more subdued, but still offer a distinct look from the standard interior flavors.
The new Telluride’s interior color options are a departure from the usual convention of caramel tones and black interiors. However, they do give the vehicle a more upmarket feel, which is in line with Kia’s design ambitions. “We’re making it look expensive, not necessarily be expensive,” Kearns summed up.
But how many of these unique interior color options will actually make it onto the production line? Only time will tell. One thing is certain, however: the Kia Telluride’s interior design has taken a bold step in the right direction.
