The Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD is a luxury coupe that promises to deliver a potent blend of style, comfort, and performance. With its sleek design, powerful twin-turbo V-6 engine, and advanced all-wheel-drive system, this Infiniti model is poised to take on the likes of the Audi S5, BMW M440i xDrive, and Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic coupe. But does it live up to its promise?

Design and Features

The Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD is a stunning-looking car, with its sleek, curvaceous bodywork and aggressive stance. Our test car’s Slate Gray paint and carbon-fiber trim added an extra layer of sophistication, making it a head-turner on the road. The interior, however, is a different story. While it’s comfortable and well-appointed, the design and materials feel dated, especially when compared to its rivals. The stacked infotainment screens and lack of modern amenities like a digital instrument cluster are notable omissions.

Performance and Handling

Under the hood, the Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD packs a potent punch, courtesy of its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine. With 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque on tap, this Infiniti model can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 mph. The engine’s power delivery is smooth and linear, with a satisfying growl from the exhaust system. However, the seven-speed automatic transmission can be slow to shift, which takes away from the driving experience.

On the handling front, the Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD is competent but not exceptional. The all-wheel-drive system provides excellent traction and stability, but the steering lacks the precision and responsiveness we expect from a sports coupe. The Proactive package, which adds Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS), is a welcome addition, but it doesn’t entirely solve the problem.

Competition and Verdict

The Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD faces stiff competition in the luxury coupe segment, with rivals like the Audi S5, BMW M440i xDrive, and Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic coupe offering more refinement, better handling, and more engaging driving experiences. Even the Lexus RC350 F Sport, which is priced lower than the Q60, offers a more compelling package.

While the Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD is a capable and comfortable luxury coupe, it falls short of being a truly great sports car. Its powerful engine and advanced all-wheel-drive system are let down by its dated interior, lackluster handling, and slow-shifting transmission. Unless Infiniti can address these issues, the Q60 will continue to trail its rivals in the luxury coupe segment.
