Rolls-Royce Phantom Arabesque: A Masterclass in Laser-etched Luxury

Rolls-Royce prides itself on details, and its latest one-off Phantom, dubbed the "Arabesque", is the perfect example of that. This bespoke motor car features a fully laser-engraved bonnet, a technique that took Rolls-Royce five years to develop. The pattern, inspired by the intricate Mashrabiya design language unique to Middle Eastern culture, is etched into the bonnet with precision, revealing a darker tone underneath. According to Michelle Lusby, bespoke lead designer for Rolls-Royce’s private office in Dubai, the aim was to interpret the qualities of Mashrabiya – privacy, light, and airflow – in ways that feel both culturally rooted and unmistakably Rolls-Royce.
