“ICE Arrests Leave Minneapolis Residents Stranded: One Towing Company Steps Up to Help”

As the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been stepping up its operations in the Minneapolis area, residents are finding themselves stranded without their vehicles. The issue has led to a small towing company, Leo's Tow, taking matters into their own hands. The company, run by Juan Leon, has started picking up abandoned cars left behind after ICE arrests, returning them to the families of those detained. Leon's company didn't start specializing in these types of tows late last year. However, after noticing a significant increase in abandoned vehicles, they decided to take action. "Seeing there was a need for someone to help out, help clear the streets and get the people back their vehicles," Leon said. As the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been stepping up its operations in the Minneapolis area, residents are finding themselves stranded without their vehicles. The issue has led to a small towing company, Leo’s Tow, taking matters into their own hands. The company, run by Juan Leon, has started picking up abandoned cars left behind after ICE arrests, returning them to the families of those detained.

Leon’s company didn’t start specializing in these types of tows late last year. However, after noticing a significant increase in abandoned vehicles, they decided to take action. “Seeing there was a need for someone to help out, help clear the streets and get the people back their vehicles,” Leon said. The company started receiving calls from families who couldn’t reach their loved ones, and Leon and his crew would find a way to get the vehicles back to the families, free of charge.

The company’s efforts have been met with gratitude from the community. “Families reach out to us. If the family isn’t reaching out, we’ll find a way to get inside the vehicle and we’ll bring it back to their house and put it in a safe spot,” Leon explained. By doing so, Leo’s Tow is not only helping the residents but also contributing to the safety and well-being of the community.

The rise in abandoned vehicles has been attributed to ICE’s increased presence in the area. With the company’s efforts, residents can rest assured that their vehicles will be returned, and they can focus on supporting their loved ones during this difficult time.
