2027 BMW Model Year Leaks: M2 xDrive, M350 xDrive, and More

BMW apparently made a bit of an oopsie over the last 24 hours on one of its consumer-facing websites: It accidentally leaked the automaker’s 2027 model year U.S. lineup via an online shop page, letting the world know cars like the all-wheel-drive M2 xDrive, Neue Klasse-gen M350 xDrive, and more are on the way. The page with all the leaks has since been taken down, but not before we saw the goods. Initially brought to our attention by BMW Blog, the most exciting leak here is definitely confirmation that the M2 xDrive is coming for 2027. This all-wheel-drive M2 was rumored to be on the way, and now it’s an inevitability. We don’t know specs or details beyond the car’s presence, but you can expect it to mirror M3 and M4 xDrive models; the same all-wheel drive system that can swap between AWD and RWD should be exclusively paired with ...

We don’t know specs or details beyond the car’s presence, but you can expect it to mirror M3 and M4 xDrive models; the same all-wheel drive system that can swap between AWD and RWD should be exclusively paired with the eight-speed automatic transmission. There’s a good chance BMW marginally ups output from the RWD car’s 473 horsepower, though we suspect it’ll stay below the M2 CS’s 523 ponies.

Next up on the leak list is the 2027 BMW M350 xDrive. Sadly, there are no photos for the rest of these models, but this is the next-generation 3 Series, based on the “Neue Klasse” platform. BMW is moving up from the current M340 to the next logical number, M350. This car was only listed with xDrive for 2027, though it’s common for BMW to delay a RWD or AWD model by a model year. Basically, we wouldn’t completely give up hope that the M350 will offer a rear-drive version by 2028. Again, specs are missing, but it’ll surely best the current M340i’s 386 horsepower.

Another intriguing car we get a preview for is the next-gen X5. BMW lists it in base X5 40 sDrive for the gas-powered option, and then in iX5 60 xDrive for an upcoming fully electric model. This follows the logic of a Bimmerpost leak from a reputable source. Again, there are no photos, but we expect more X5 variants should follow to fill out the lineup.

The leaks in BMW’s SUV line continue with versions of the not-yet-revealed iX4. This model will almost certainly be the coupe SUV bodystyle version of the Neue Klasse iX3. Both 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive versions briefly populated on BMW’s site, which tracks with the known offerings for the electric iX3. There’s nothing unexpected here, but it’s nice to know we can expect this model for 2027.

The last not-yet-revealed car in the leaks is the refreshed 7-Series. BMW only lists it in 740i xDrive form, but you can count on more powerful-slash-sportier versions to join it. This won’t be an entirely new 7-Series, but a mid-cycle refresh is coming to do battle with Mercedes-Benz’s also-refreshed S-Class.
